Week 4 of Development


During this week of development the main feature that I worked on was the spawner. I completely rewrote the code for this, making it based on choosing set patterns with elements of randomisation, rather than being entirely random. I ended up creating 5 possible different patterns, all with different shapes. I also made it so that the spawner has values that scale based on how far the player has reached, in order to make the game more difficult as it progresses. I also added a proper death state, with a screen that allows the player to restart and view their score and personal best score. In addition, I made it so that power-ups have a random chance of spawning at the end of a pattern. Finally, I tried to make the progress bar for the player's score a bit smoother.
